PIY - Print it Yourself - is a series of screen printing Seminars and Workshops.
PIY Seminars & Workshops last for four weeks and the aim is to spread the art of screen printing in the fullest and most practical way.
         The program of PIY Seminars & Workshops include learning the basic theory of silkscreen, design workshops and print workshops on T-Shirts and paper. Participants are asked to print their own designs on the surfaces of their choice.

  • *** Participants under the supervision of an instructor process the project in a PC or in hand until the production of the film. Each participant chooses one of two days (Saturday or Sunday) and will have about 4-6 hours to process the design. Day selection is made by signing up.

  • *** The participants choose one of the four days of the printing workshops. Each participant prints his own designs on paper and paper at one of the positions of hand-held silk screen printing machines, which is reserved exclusively for them on the day they choose. The choice of the print day must be declared by each participant in the registration when purchasing the ticket and will be followed by a priority order. The attendance in the remaining three days is free.

During the seminars the following speakers will talk about screen printing :

Paperlocs.

Maria Roussounelou / Pavlos Lavithis

Paperlocs is all about paper. They create papier-mâché projects in a small household studio, focusing on the pure graphic design approach. They started experimentally in the winter of 2022-23 and officially in 2024. The team consists of two graphic designers, Maria Rousounelou (Mykonos, 2001) and Pavlos Lavithis (Athens, 1994). Both graduated from the Graphic Design department of Vakalo Art & Design College, with BA(Hons) and are active in the field of visual communication.

Tasos Chalios

Tasos Chalios ia a member of Cottons & Cottons, the group that treats clothing as a vehicle for communication and expression. He remains relentlessly committed to quality and maintains faith in human ingenuity and creativity. Garment, printing, providing visual communication solutions and collaborating with interesting personalities, is his pursuit. He loves to read, to learn and to share what wonders his quests give him.

KYVOS INC

Company KYVOS Incorporation started in 2020, it is a creators space with main object of printing clothes, stickers & prints and aims to contribute dynamically to the communication of businesses, organisations as well as brands. Starting from two different small workshop spaces, today it has 2 production departments and a sales department.

Tind - Manolis Angelakis

Tind - Manolis Angelakis
Instructor / Printing Workshops

Manolis Angelakis, a.k.a. Tind, lives and works in Athens. Prints on a variety of materials with contemporary and older methods and specialising in screen printing. Although he has graphic design background, excellent knowledge in serigraphy arising from work next to his father at a very young age. Today, they work together and learn specialised aspects of screen printing to one another.

Kostas Gotza Zisimopoulos

Kostas Gotza Zisimopoulos
Instructor / Design & Printing Workshops

Gotza studied graphic design and did a master's degree in visual communication. He loved the silk-screen as a fan of psychedelic posters of the 60s, Pop Art Aesthetics and gig posters of the 90s. Among other things, he considers the DIY aspect of silkscreen to be particularly charming. At PIY he will share his silk-screen experiences so far.
